London School of Economics launches Education for Victory program: how to apply
5 November 18:54
The London School of Economics’ International Development and Economic Strategy (LSE IDEAS) has launched an educational program for Ukrainians called “Education for Victory”. It is designed to strengthen the leadership skills, institutional capacity and strategic thinking of participants who will be involved in the reconstruction and development of the country.
Ukrainian experts, politicians, military and civil servants, and representatives of national and local authorities will have access to the world’s leading knowledge and methodologies. The program allows professionals involved in post-war planning to quickly acquire the knowledge and expertise to effectively represent the country at the international level.
The program will last four weeks. During the first week, participants will study full-time at the London School of Economics, where they will meet with representatives of the EBRD and JPMorgan. The next three weeks will be spent online. Lectures will be delivered by LSE professors and invited international speakers, including Nobel Prize winner and former World Bank Chief Economist Joseph Stiglitz.
A joint teaching and research platform (Faculty and Research Track) will be created to bring together LSE experts and Ukrainian specialists to study resilience, governance and recovery. The program will also provide academic exchanges and teaching opportunities abroad, where it will be possible to participate in international research and training.
The LSE will create a Ukrainian Hub, which will become a meeting place for academics, policy makers and civil society, transforming education into leadership and ideas into action. The hub will promote research, policy dialogue and the exchange of strategic experience.
Applications for the Education for Victory program are open from October 31 to January 31, 2026. You can become a participant by filling out the application form. The program is scheduled to start in February 2026. Details of the program and terms of participation are available on the website.
The initiative is being implemented in cooperation with the Ukrainian non-profit organization Education for Victory and the international building materials manufacturer CRH.
This partnership reflects our shared belief that progress begins with understanding and that education remains the most powerful tool for diplomacy and peace. Together, we are committed to building institutions that stand the test of time, knowledge that empowers, and leadership that unites,” said Christopher Alden, Director of LSE IDEAS.
“The main goal of the program is to develop a sustainable and globally integrated leadership capable of effectively leading Ukraine’s transformation and recovery.
For Ukraine, this means training a generation capable of building a modern, globally integrated state. For our partners, it is a contribution to a common European future based on trust, innovation and solidarity. Together, we are proving that strategic cooperation between the academic, public and private sectors can become a real engine of sustainable change,” said Oleksiy Mushak, founder of Education for Victory.
“CRH is convinced that Ukraine’s recovery requires a collective approach based on strong institutions and education.
That is why we are proud to support the Education for Victory program, working with LSE IDEAS and Education for Victory to foster innovation, knowledge sharing and learning initiatives and work together for a sustainable future for Ukraine,” added Guillaume Cavalier, President of CRH Central and Eastern Europe.
