Russia’s Lukoil will resume oil exports through Ukraine thanks to an agreement with Hungary. This was reported by Reutersreports "Komersant Ukrainian".

“Lukoil intends to resume oil supplies through the Druzhba pipeline to Slovakia and Hungary in October after Hungary’s MOL said it had signed agreements to transport oil through Belarus and Ukraine via the pipeline,” the media outlet said, citing its own sources.

The sources said that supplies will resume next month, as export plans for this month were drawn up in advance and it is difficult to redirect the volumes.

“Lukoil may be able to redirect a small amount this month, but it remains to be seen,” Reuters notes.

In the summer of 2024, official Kyiv banned supplies to Lukoil after the company was included in the sanctions list. However, MOL is now taking ownership of oil on the border of Belarus and Ukraine. Previously, this was done by Russian suppliers. According to the agreements, Russian oil supplies through Druzhba in September are planned at 510,000 tonnes for Slovakia and 360,000 tonnes for Hungary. MOL’s refinery in Slovakia is also planning maintenance of its unit, which will lead to a reduction in oil consumption. Russian companies Tatneft and Russneft were considered by MOL as its main suppliers in September, the media reported.
