Less than a fifth of Ukrainian IT professionals have reservations for mobilization. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by DOU.ua among more than 7.8 thousand men working in IT and living in Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
How many IT professionals have reservations
According to the survey, 13% have a reservation from their main employer, and another 4% have a reservation from a second, non-main job.
At the same time, 44% of survey participants do not have reservations at all.
Another 15% have a deferral from mobilization, and 24% are not subject to mobilization for various reasons: age (under 25 or over 60), health status, or because of their previous service.
Who receives reservations most often
According to the DOU, employers mostly book Lead specialists, managers and analysts – representatives of Leadership, Project/Product/Program Management, as well as system administrators.
“The older and more experienced the specialist, the higher the probability of booking,” the report says.
Booked professionals have a higher median salary than their non-booked colleagues.
The largest share of booked IT professionals is in Kyiv.
Where are they most often booked
Reservations are more often made by large and medium-sized companies, government agencies, and IT departments of non-IT companies such as banks, telecom operators, and retail chains.
The miltech sector stands out as a separate area, where the demand for specialists and bookings is growing.
In previous reports, DOU.ua reported that the number of deftech vacancies in Ukraine has increased 20 times in two years, and the greatest demand is now for hardware specialists.
At the same time, as of August 2025, the volume of IT exports from Ukraine amounted to $540 million, which is 2.7% less than in July.
