Ukrainian athlete, Olympic champion and high jump record holder Yaroslava Maguchikh won a convincing victory at the Diamond League 2025 stage in Polish Silesia. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the NOC of Ukraine.

The main competition in the high jump tournament was between Maguchikh and Australian Nicola Olislagers.

Jaroslawa needed only five jumps to win gold: on her first attempt, she cleared the bars at heights of 1.91 m, 1.94 m, and 1.97 m, and then successfully soared 2 meters in her second attempt. This is a record for the stage in Poland – Maguchikh took the best achievement from her compatriot Yulia Levchenko.

Olislagers failed to reach this height, stopping at 1.97 meters.

Another Ukrainian athlete, Kateryna Tabashnyk, who also represented our country at these competitions, took sixth place with a result of 1.88 meters.

With this victory, Maguchikh broke her losing streak in the Diamond League. Earlier, Jaroslawa failed to win the previous three stages, including London, where she was left without an award for the first time since 2022.

Today, August 16, the ninth stage of the Diamond League will continue. Ukrainians Mykhailo Kokhan and Oleh Doroshchuk will compete in the hammer throw and high jump, respectively.
