Massive attack on Kyiv: there are dead and wounded, Russia struck in several waves – what is known

On the night and morning of November 25, Russian troops launched a combined attack on Kyiv, using missiles and drones in several stages. The attack caused widespread destruction and resulted in civilian deaths. As of 8:57 a.m., the death toll had risen to six and the number of wounded to ten. This was reported by Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Timur Tkachenko, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

Casualties and wounded: what is known in the morning

Two people were killed in a nighttime strike in Dniprovsky district, including an 86-year-old woman. The second victim is being identified.

In the morning, the situation worsened: rescuers found the bodies of four more victims in Svyatoshynskyi district. Three people were injured.

In total, at least ten people were injured – some of them were hospitalized, others were treated on the spot.

Destruction in several districts of the capital

The attack affected several districts of Kyiv at once:

  • Holosiivskyi
  • Darnytskyi
  • Desnianskyi
  • Dniprovskyi
  • Pecherskyi
  • Sviatoshynskyi

The biggest damage was recorded:

Pechersk district
A rocket hit a 22-story building. Some of the structures were destroyed and a large-scale fire broke out. Medics helped a woman who suffered an acute stress reaction.

Dniprovsky district
A fire in a 9-storey building killed two people. Five residents received injuries of varying degrees.

Sviatoshynskyi district
A non-residential building was damaged. Rescuers later found the bodies of four dead and three injured.

Darnytskyi district
A new hit to a non-residential building is recorded. Emergency services continue to work at the scene.

Changes in traffic and services

Due to the destruction in Dniprovskyi district, public transport routes have been partially changed:

  • In Rusanivka, Entuziastiv Street is blocked in both directions.
  • Bus No. 48 is temporarily running on a rerouted route:
    Rusanivska Embankment – Rusanivskyi Blvd. Rusanivskyi – Ihor Shamo Blvd. Ihor Shamo – Entuziastiv Street.

Rescuers, explosives experts, medics and utilities are working at the sites of the hits.

How the strike took place: a timeline of the attack

According to the Air Force:

  • At midnight, the first missile launch was recorded in the direction of the capital.
  • Around 01:00, the threat of cruise missiles was reported.
  • During the night, Russia attacked Kyiv with kamikaze drones.
  • Around 07:00 am, the Russians launched a second missile attack.
  • Reconnaissance drones were also flying in the country’s airspace.

The attacks came in waves, which complicated the work of air defense and rescue services.
