Massive attack on Kyiv: high-rise buildings damaged, 14 killed, 40 wounded

As a result of a massive enemy attack in Kyiv on June 17, 2025, 14 people were killed and more than 40 people were injured. This was stated by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko in a message on social media and by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Timur Tkachenko in Telegram, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
More than 30 of them were hospitalized.
According to preliminary data, 14 people were killed in Kyiv as a result of a Russian massive attack on the night of June 17.
“Preliminary, there are 14 dead in Kyiv. The information will be updated,” Tkachenko wrote.
One man, a US citizen, died during the attack.
“During the attack on Kyiv in the Solomyansky district, a 62-year-old US citizen died in a house opposite the one where doctors were helping the victims. Doctors diagnosed him with clinical death – biological death,” Klitschko said.
During the attack in Podilske, the drone debris fell in an open area without further consequences. A car was damaged in Obolonsky district In Dniprovsky district, a piece of a shahed stuck in the wall of a residential building.
According to official reports, the consequences of the Russian attack on the city were recorded at 12 locations in Solomianskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Podilskyi, and Obolonskyi districts.
In Solomyansky district, the entrance of a residential building was destroyed. Rescuers are currently working there to remove the rubble.
Emergency services continue to work on the ground in several other districts of the capital.
The nighttime attack damaged transportation infrastructure.
Tram traffic has been temporarily suspended due to the damage to the overhead line:
- route 15
- route No. 22
Emergency services are already working to eliminate the consequences. We will announce the resumption of traffic separately.
Traffic is blocked on Boryspilska Street.
Bus routes #51, 63, 115 are running according to the changed schemes:
- lybidska metro station – Pryvokzalna street
- kosmonavta Popovycha Street – Pryvokzalna Street
- Kontraktova Square – Pryvokzalna Street
Traffic on Mykola Vasylenko Street is also blocked
Bus route 14T is running:
- Kontraktova Square – Mykola Vasylenko Street.
