Massive terror: Russia attacks Ukraine with more than 440 drones and 32 missiles
17 June 10:31
On the night of June 17, Russia carried out one of the largest attacks in the entire period of the full-scale war: more than 440 attack drones and 32 missiles were sent to peaceful cities of Ukraine. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who called Russia’s actions direct terror against the civilian population, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“One of the most terrible strikes on Kyiv” – Zelensky
“I regularly receive reports from Interior Minister Klymenko and military commanders on the situation after the massive Russian strike. More than 440 drones and 32 missiles. One of the most terrible strikes on Kyiv,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Kyiv and the capital of Ukraine – Kyiv – came under enemy attack.
In Kyiv, an entrance was destroyed – people are under the rubble
The Solomensky district of the capital suffered the most damage, where a rocket hit a 9-story building. One of the entrances was actually completely destroyed, and search and rescue operations are underway.
“Now in Kyiv they are trying to get people out from under the rubble of an ordinary residential building. It is unclear how many people are there. Russians destroyed the entire entrance,” the President said.
Damage was reported in eight districts of the capital, where the blast wave destroyed windows, roofs and building structures.

Preliminary results: 15 dead, 75 wounded
As of the morning of June 17, the death toll is at least 15 people, and 75 others have been injured of varying severity.
“My condolences to the families and friends of the victims. All the injured are being provided with the necessary assistance. Work is still underway after the strike on Odesa, rescuers are working at all arrival sites,” Zelensky added.
“This is terrorism, and the world must respond”
The President once again emphasized that these attacks are an act of state terrorism to which Ukraine’s international partners must respond decisively.
“Such attacks are pure terrorism. And the whole world, the United States and Europe must finally react the way a civilized society reacts to terrorists,” he emphasized.
Zelensky drew attention to the fact that Russia continues its military aggression only because it does not feel an adequate response from the international community:
“Putin is doing this solely because he can afford to continue the war. He wants to continue the war. It is bad when the powers that be turn a blind eye to this. We are in contact with all our partners at all possible levels to ensure a proper response. It is the terrorists who should feel pain, not normal, peaceful people.”
It should be noted that the Russians used 175 drones, more than 14 cruise missiles and at least 2 ballistic missiles in Kyiv and the city’s outskirts.
