Massive blow to TPPs: Russia strikes again at Ukraine’s energy sector

Russian occupation forces have launched a massive attack on one of the thermal power plants (TPPs). This was reported by the Ministry of Energy, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“The enemy carried out a massive attack on one of the thermal power plants. The attacked station has nothing to do with military facilities,” the Energy Ministry said in a statement.
The ministry emphasized that the shelling is another proof of a deliberate policy of destroying Ukrainian civilian infrastructure.
“Such targeted attacks are another proof of terror and genocidal policy of the aggressor. This is yet another attempt to intimidate Ukrainians and deprive us of electricity and heat,” the Ministry of Energy emphasized.
Experts are already working at the scene. Power engineers are doing everything possible to eliminate the consequences of the shelling and restore the damaged infrastructure as soon as possible.

It is not yet clear which thermal power plant was attacked and what damage it sustained.
This is not the first time that Russia has attacked Ukraine’s critical energy infrastructure. After the winter of 2022-2023, the Ukrainian energy system has already experienced a series of planned missile and drone strikes aimed at depriving millions of Ukrainians of electricity, heating and water supply.
