Financial aid to Kyiv residents after shelling: where to apply and what documents to submit

Kyiv residents who suffered as a result of Russian missile strikes and whose homes were damaged or destroyed are entitled to financial assistance from the state and the city. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the KCIA.
There are several support programs that provide both one-time payments and long-term assistance. Below are the full instructions on how to receive compensation and whom to contact.
1. The program “Care. Towards the people of Kyiv”
This is a municipal program that provides a one-time financial assistance of UAH 10,000 to affected residents of Kyiv.
You need to apply to the department of social protection and veteran policy of your district state administration (DSA).
Documents required:
– passport and TIN of the owner;
– a document of ownership;
– inspection report (issued by the management company within a few days after the inspection of the apartment);
– a certificate with bank details.
2. Help from Kyiv City Council members
Victims can personally apply to Kyiv City Council members representing their district.
The estimated amount of one-time assistance is up to UAH 10,000.

3. State program “eRestoration” through the “Diia” app
This is the main state program through which you can apply for the restoration of damaged housing.
How to apply:
Go to the Diia app and report the damage to your home.
If your property is not registered in the State Register of Property Rights, the system may not accept the application. In this case, you need to contact:
- ASC or
- anotary to have your property entered into the register.

4. Compensation for unfit housing
If your home is found to be unfit for human habitation, you will receive
- a one-time allowance of UAH 40,000 for renting temporary housing;
- monthly assistance in the amount of UAH 20,000 for the period until the housing is restored, but not longer than one year.
Important: all payments and compensations can be received only after official paperwork is completed. Therefore, do not delay in submitting applications and contacting the relevant institutions.

What is known about the night attack on Kyiv on June 17
On the night of June 17, Russia launched a massive missile and drone attack on Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine. According to preliminary data, the occupiers fired 440 drones and 32 missiles of various types. The capital suffered serious damage – the strikes hit residential buildings in Solomianskyi, Darnytskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts.
Particularly extensive damage was recorded in the Solomyansky district, where a Russian ballistic missile hit a nine-story building. The force of the impact was so powerful that the missile pierced several concrete floors and even reached the basement.
During the day on June 17, the number of casualties and injuries was constantly growing. As of the morning of June 18, 23 people were killed and 134 wounded in Kyiv. Rescuers continue to work at the scene of the tragedy, clearing the rubble and searching for people who may be trapped under the debris.
