Almost 3.5 thousand criminal cases: SBU intensifies fight against enemy informers

The Security Service of Ukraine continues to actively fight enemy agents, which is one of the key tasks during the war. According to the SBU, in response to a request from "Komersant Ukrainian", the actions of persons cooperating with the aggressor state are qualified under Articles 111 (“High Treason”) and 114-2 (“Unauthorized dissemination of information on the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine”) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Under the law, such crimes are punishable by the highest possible penalties, including life imprisonment. Particular attention is paid to those who inform the enemy about the coordinates of the Ukrainian military or adjust enemy fire, causing damage to the country’s defense capabilities.
The scale of the revelations
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the SBU has opened more than 3,300 criminal proceedings on high treason. Another 600 cases concern the adjustment of fire and the dissemination of information about the location of the Ukrainian military.
The Security Service of Ukraine calls on citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities of persons who may be collaborating with the enemy. In today’s environment, combating the internal threat is no less important than countering the external aggressor.
I would like to add that the day before, the SBU successfully neutralized a subversive group acting on the instructions of Russian special services in Rivne region.
The criminals set up an improvised explosive device on the railway track, which they detonated while a freight train of the Ukrainian Defense Forces was moving.

Thanks to the quick response of the SBU officers, the train was stopped at a safe distance in advance, and the scene was promptly secured. This helped to avoid an accident and minimize the risks to human life and military cargo.
After the threat was eliminated, the train continued its journey to its destination.
The Security Service of Ukraine continues to work to identify and eliminate hostile subversive groups that are trying to harm the country’s critical infrastructure. Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities.
