McDonald’s has opened its 50th restaurant in the capital: where it is located

on October 22, 2025, the 50th anniversary McDonald’s restaurant opened in Kyiv in a top location – next to the main entrance of the Kyiv Zoo at 32 G Beresteysky Avenue. This is the 117th restaurant of the chain out of 132 existing in Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports citing the company’s release.
The new restaurant is located in the existing building of the zoo. McDonald’s won the tender and began renovations.
The location of the new restaurant is really top-notch. There are two universities nearby – the Bogomolets National Medical University and the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Sikorsky”. In addition, the zoo itself does not have a gastronomic segment at all, and the nearest food court is in the Smart Plaza Polytech shopping center.
Therefore, McDonald’s expects that there will be a lot of visitors, so the kitchen capacity in this restaurant is greater than in some other restaurants of the chain. And since the visitors of the new restaurant are not only families with children, but also students, the establishment is made in the Human comfy design concept, i.e. comfortable for everyone.
The spacious hall has 146 seats, and the cozy terrace has 80 seats. You can place an order in the new restaurant quickly and contactlessly using 12 self-service terminals. Also, McDelivery should be launched a few days after the opening. However, there is no possibility to make a McDrive in the new restaurant.
The restaurant has employed 60 people, including young people as young as 16.
This year, McDonald’s has already opened eight restaurants in Ukraine, and plans to open three more by the end of the year. While last year’s investments amounted to UAH 1.8 billion, in 2025 they are expected to reach UAH 2 billion.
Last year, the company paid UAH 2.6 billion in taxes, and in 2025 the figure will be even higher.
As a reminder, on October 10, 2025, McDonald’s opened a new restaurant at 62 Okruzhna Street in the village of Lypyny, at the entrance to Lutsk. This is the 115th restaurant of the chain in Ukraine and the seventh restaurant opened in partnership with a gas station.
