Ukrainian singer Melovin, who recently publicly announced his mobilization to the ranks of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, responded to online accusations that he has allegedly been serving for more than a year. The artist posted a video on his Telegram channel that clearly shows the date of his military oath – April 9, 2025, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
It should be noted that during his concert on July 6 in Kyiv, the artist announced from the stage that he had been invited to join the Ensemble of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
“I was invited, so now I am a state border guard and I play with this ensemble. This is not a new project. This is not a high-profile collaboration. This is a decision. A conscious decision. A real one,” Melovin, 28, emphasized on Instagram.
The video appeared on the singer’s Telegram channel as a reaction to rumors that began to spread after his performance. Some users claimed that Melovin had joined the SBGSU Song and Dance Ensemble last year. The singer himself called these allegations untrue and noted that his journey in the Border Guard Service began only in the spring of this year.
“This place has become my second home since April. The song and dance ensemble has become a place where I was accepted as a professional. I don’t know who is spreading rumors that I have been there for a year. Ignorant people…” the artist wrote under the video.
Melovin also emphasized that his service has a clear cultural mission: concerts for the military, support for morale and active charity events. According to the singer, the team already has a scheduled schedule of performances for Ukrainian defenders, and his solo concerts regularly raise funds for the needs of the frontline.
“We have scheduled concerts for the military, large fundraisers to support the front, which I urge everyone to join. We also raise money at my solo shows,” he said.
The artist emphasized that mobilization is his personal choice, and he is proud to be of service to his country in such a difficult time.
“I am glad to be useful. To be a part of something real,” Melovin summarized.
