Fewer costs, more destinations: how Ukrposhta’s new tariff changes the rules of international shipping for business

The national postal operator Ukrposhta has announced a change in the rules for international shipments, introducing a new tariff called “Small Package PRIME”. According to "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the company’s official information of October 7, the innovation is intended to simplify the delivery process for Ukrainian businesses and reduce the cost of sending goods abroad.
From now on, Ukrainian entrepreneurs can use the new tariff for shipments weighing up to 5 kg to six countries:
- The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland,
- China,
- Singapore, the United Kingdom
- Thailand, the United Kingdom
- Chile,
- India.
According to the operator, the new format allows businesses to save up to 25% on delivery. Previously, Ukrposhta accepted shipments weighing 2 to 5 kg as standard parcels or EMS shipments, which cost more.
“Now, when ordering, you can choose the ‘PRIME Small Package’. Take a look: shipping goods weighing 5 kg to the United Kingdom by parcel costs $41.94. And with the service, it costs only $34. And you save almost $8 on one shipment,” Ukrposhta’s official Telegram channel reported.
Key advantages of the new format
“Ukrposhta emphasizes that the new tariff is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized businesses that actively sell on international marketplaces such as Etsy, eBay, Amazon, or Shopify.
Among the main advantages:
Payment for actual, not volumetric, weight. That is, customers do not pay for “air in the box,” which is especially important for small goods.
Online processing. All stages can be completed through your personal account or mobile application without the need to visit a branch.
Tracking by track number at any time. Each shipment receives a unique tracking code, which allows you to control its movement until delivery.
Targeted delivery and free return if the parcel was not delivered to the recipient.
Focus on exports and support for Ukrainian business
“Ukrposhta has been consistently expanding opportunities for Ukrainian exporters. Over the past year, the company has entered into a number of agreements with international postal services and logistics operators, which has reduced delivery times and transportation costs.
The new tariff is part of a broader strategy to develop e-commerce. Ukrainian businesses that actively sell abroad will gain a competitive advantage: the ability to ship small orders cheaper and faster without losing the quality of service.
“Ukrposhta notes that the introduction of the PRIME tariff is the result of cooperation with the global PRIME postal network, which includes more than 150 countries. This makes it possible to provide more predictable delivery times and improved quality of service for international shipments.

How to use the new tariff from Ukrposhta
Entrepreneurs can order the PRIME Small Package in several ways:
1. Online – through Ukrposhta’s personal account or the app, where the cost of delivery is immediately calculated.
2. In a branch – the traditional way, when the operator helps to draw up customs declarations and attach a track number.
3. Integration with marketplaces – for businesses that use Shopify or eBay, Ukrposhta offers API integration to automatically create labels for shipments.
Customers can pay online, save shipping templates and track delivery status in real time.
