16 August 2024 09:56
on 15 August 2024, Kyiv Metro signed an agreement to continue the construction of the Syretsko-Pecherska metro line in the direction of the Vynohradar residential area. The winner of the tender was Avtostrada Group of Companies LLC, reports "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the KCSA press service.
According to the terms of the contract, the cost of the works is UAH 13.785 billion, and the term of execution is 30 months, i.e. until the end of 2027. The procurement was made through the Prozorro system.
The necessary permits are currently being issued and the construction sites are being handed over to the contractor. Construction work will begin after these procedures are completed.
The project is of strategic importance for Kyiv, providing high-speed transport to residents of Vynohradar and Podil district.
It is worth noting that in December 2023, Kyiv Metro cancelled the previous contract with Kyivmetrobud due to unsatisfactory terms of work. Litigation is currently underway to recover unused prepayment and penalties.
So far, the right turnaround tunnel of about 1,250 metres between Mostytska and Syrets stations has been built, the main structures of the ventilation unit have been completed, and other works have been partially completed.
As reported by The Village, Avtostrada was the only tenderer from the Kyiv City State Administration.
Metro to Vynohradar
The Metro to Vynohradar project involves the extension of the green line of the Kyiv metro from Syrets station to the Vynohradar residential area. Construction began in 2019 with a plan to complete the first phase (Mostytska and Prospekt Pravdy stations) by November 2021.
However, the project faced numerous delays. The general contractor, Kyivmetrobud, asked to postpone the completion date to May 2023 due to lockdowns. Despite this, Mayor Vitali Klitschko promised to open at least one station by the end of 2021.
In 2023, the project underwent significant changes: the Kyiv City State Administration ordered its adjustment for UAH 70 million, and in December, the contract with Kyivmetrobud was terminated.
In addition, financial irregularities were discovered: the contractor put UAH 1.5 billion of budget funds on deposit and received UAH 139 million in interest.
