Microsoft and Amazon to cut Russian business off from cloud services

Microsoft and Amazon will close access to their cloud products for Russians from 20 March 2024. This was announced by the Russian company Softline, Komersant ukrainskyi reports https://www.komersant.info/

According to letters from the copyright holders, from that date, access to cloud products such as (but not limited to): Power BI, Dynamics CRM and others.

These restrictions on Russia are determined by the 12th EU sanctions package of 19 December 2023, which restricts the supply of business intelligence (BI), customer relationship management (CRM) and other products to Russia.

For Russian companies, this means that it will be impossible to use these products or access the data contained in them from 20 March 2024. According to letters from the copyright holders, these products will become unavailable to Russian customers due to the requirements of the new provisions of EU Regulation 833/2014, which imposes restrictions on the supply of various types of software to Russia.

It is important to note that this may include all cloud-based products of Microsoft, Amazon and Google, which the rights holders determine to be prohibited for supply to Russia in accordance with the requirements of the above Regulation.
