The Ministry of Economy denied the termination of the “National Cashback”: what is really happening with the program

The Ministry of Economy has officially denied information about the alleged curtailment of the National Cashback program. The ministry emphasizes that the program is operating normally, preparing for the next payments, and has no decisions to close it in 2026, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The media reported that the cashback program would allegedly cease operations in two years. The reason for this was changes in the government’s financial documents, which journalists interpreted as a reduction in the program.
However, the Ministry of Economy emphasized that it was only a technical redistribution of funds, not a cut in funding or the termination of the National Cashback.
“The Ministry of Economy has not prepared or reviewed any documents that would provide for the termination of the National Cashback in 2026. The information published in the media is not true. The quoted changes in the regulations mentioned by the media relate to the technical redistribution of funds and are not a decision to reduce funding or terminate the program,” the Ministry said.
What will happen to the program next?
The ministry emphasizes that the public will be informed in advance of any changes that may affect program participants. Currently, all processes are ongoing, including
- preparation of the next payments for September and October;
- updating the list of Ukrainian producers;
- work with program participants.
That is, the project is neither stopped nor reduced.
What is National Cashback?
The program was launched in October 2024. Its essence is simple: the state returns 10% of the cost of Ukrainian goods if the purchase was made through a special card.
The funds can be spent only on socially important categories, including
- utilities
- mobile communications
- medicines
- charity, etc.
The program aims to support Ukrainian producers and at the same time ease the costs of citizens.
