The share of household consumption in the overall energy balance of our country is 30-35%, and daily reasonable energy savings can reduce the consumption of each household by up to 30%. This is stated in a report by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.

The Ministry of Energy has prepared a rating of the power of household appliances in active mode (see photo).

As it turns out, an electric stove consumes the most kilowatts per hour. The leaders in energy consumption are also an oil radiator, a boiler, an iron, a hairdryer, an electric oven, an air conditioner and a kettle. But, for example, a gaming computer consumes half the power.

What does 1000 watts of power mean, for example?

If the appliance operates continuously for 1 hour at full power, it will use 1 kW of electricity during this time. By the way, knowing the power consumption of an electrical appliance, you can calculate its share in the total power consumption.

The Ministry of Energy also draws consumers’ attention to the fact that when choosing household appliances, they should take into account the energy efficiency class and read the instructions for use. Most modern appliances have modes that allow rational consumption of voltage to extend their service life and reduce the load on the power grid.

The agency also reminded that every appliance switched off in time and every energy-efficient mode chosen contributes to the stable operation of Ukraine’s power system.
