The Ministry of Energy announced new attacks on power facilities: how it will affect electricity in the regions
10 November 13:06
After another night attack by Russia on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, new damage to power facilities in several regions was reported. This was reported by Ukrenergo on the morning of November 10, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The company is currently eliminating the consequences of previous massive missile and drone strikes that have significantly affected the stability of the power system.
Consumption restrictions and hourly blackouts
Due to the difficult situation in the power grid caused by the shelling, hourly blackouts will be introduced in most regions of the country today.
The outages will be carried out in 2-4 stages depending on the load on the system.
In the regions where hourly schedules have already been introduced, power restrictions for industrial enterprises and businesses will also be in effect.
“Ukrenergo urges Ukrainians to use electricity sparingly throughout the day, as the load on the system remains high and the deteriorating weather conditions increase consumption.

State of the power system
Despite the significant damage, power engineers are working continuously to restore the equipment as soon as possible.
Currently, Ukraine is living in the mode of stabilization blackouts, which may last for several weeks.
on November 8, Russia launched a massive attack on energy facilities, and on November 9, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced talks with international partners to support the Ukrainian energy system.
Consumption remains high
According to Ukrenergo, on November 9, the daily maximum electricity consumption was recorded in the evening, up 1.9% from the previous day.
The power company asks citizens to shift the use of powerful appliances to night time, when the load on the system is the lowest.
“Given the weather conditions and the consequences of Russian attacks, the need for economical electricity consumption will remain throughout the day. Please limit the use of powerful electrical appliances, transfer energy-intensive processes to night time, when the load on the power system is the lowest,” the statement said.

How long will the blackouts last?
The Ministry of Energy clarified that the blackouts will remain in effect until the power system is fully stabilized.
So far, the schedules of power supply restrictions for the population are in effect throughout the country.

- outages may be uneven across regions, depending on the load on the grid;
- critical infrastructure (hospitals, water and heat supply facilities) will be connected first;
- ukrainians are advised to use electrical appliances sparingly, especially in the evening.
