MPs Maria Mezentseva of the Servant of the People party and Alyona Shkrum of the Batkivshchyna party are among the candidates to head the new Ministry of Ukrainian Returns. This was announced by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Goncharenko spoke about discussions to create a new agency , the Ministry of Return of Ukrainians, which is designed to facilitate the return of citizens who left the country because of the war. This ministry has not yet been created, but several candidates for the post of minister are already being discussed. The main contenders are two MPs: Maria Mezentseva from the Servant of the People party and Alyona Shkrum from the Fatherland party.
However, Honcharenko did not limit himself to the announcement of the candidates and was critical of the government’s actions. He noted that, on the one hand, the government is trying to develop mechanisms to bring Ukrainians home, but at the same time it is creating conditions that force citizens to stay abroad.
“With one hand, the authorities seem to be doing everything to ensure that as few Ukrainians as possible return, while with the other they are coming up with the Ministry of Return,” Goncharenko commented.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine would launch an institution to ensure the unity of Ukrainians abroad and counter Russian propaganda.
