The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has updated the procedure for documenting cases of death, missing and captured servicemen. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
citing a statement from the ministry.

As part of improving the system of protection of the rights of military personnel and their families, the Main Department for the Protection of the Rights of Servicemen (MDRP) has developed a corresponding order amending the Instruction on the organization of personnel records.

The document simplifies the procedure for military units: if there are no signs of a criminal offense in the case of disappearance, captivity or death, an internal investigation is no longer required. The unit commander can issue an order on the established circumstances on his own.

The transfer of information between military units, territorial recruitment centers (TCCs) and families of defenders has also been simplified. This should speed up informing loved ones, reduce the number of errors in documents and reduce the burden on headquarters.

“This decision is a response to the real challenges faced by both military units and families of our defenders on a daily basis,” explained Colonel Ruslan Tsygankov, Head of the Main Military Personnel Department.

According to him, the document was developed at the request of the Presidential Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Servicemen and Their Families.

In July, the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched the portal “MIA: Your Support” portal for veterans, wounded soldiers, those released from captivity and their families.
