Ministry of Defence introduces new technology to protect military smartphones

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence is introducing a new technology to protect military personnel’s smartphones. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development Kateryna Chornohorenko, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“The military uses personal mobile devices. And we have found innovative solutions to protect them. For this purpose, the Ministry of Defence Innovation Centre is implementing Mobile Device Management technology. It provides access to the military analogue of the App Store or Play Market. After installation and successful verification that there are no vulnerabilities on the device, the military will have access to the applications,” she said
Chornohorenko added that today there are 68 such apps for military use, 14 of which are designed exclusively for the needs of war.
“A similar approach is used by the US Army to improve the cyber defence of the military,” the deputy minister said.
The cards attached to the message by Kateryna Chornohorenko say that such protection also works for personal tablets of military personnel. It saves costs and time for purchasing new gadgets.
