In 2025, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine attracted more than $6 billion for the development of the Ukrainian defense industry.
This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to a statement by Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.
According to him, almost 1.8 billion dollars were allocated for the production of Ukrainian weapons under the so-called “Danish model”.
Ukraine raised another $4.3 billion through direct purchases from partner countries from domestic producers for the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
In addition, the Ukrainian defense industry received more than $1.1 billion from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets.
The Minister also said that Ukraine has submitted its own projects in the defense industry under the European SAFE mechanism. The expected amount of funding for these projects is about $5 billion.
“The Ukrainian defense industry has been growing steadily since 2022 and in 2025 reached a production capacity of $35 billion. We are grateful to all our partners for supporting Ukraine’s defense capability and the development of our defense industry,” Denys Shmyhal said.
