Ministry of Digital Transformation increases budget for defense innovations: how much money will go to military technology

In 2026, the budget of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine will amount to UAH 10.16 billion, Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said , "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The main funding priority is to support defense innovations, reflecting the growing importance of digital technologies in the security sector.
Where the money will be spent
According to the minister, almost 73% of the funds will be allocated to Brave1 grant programs that support the development of military technologies, including missile systems, artificial intelligence, explosives, and the production of own components. This demonstrates Ukraine’s intention to create its own defense technological capacities, reducing dependence on imports.
The rest of the budget will be spent on:
- Digitalization of public services and development of the Diia app;
- Modernization and protection of state registers;
- Launching new anti-corruption initiatives, including an online gambling monitoring system.
The Ministry also plans to cooperate with international partners to raise funds for the development of convenient services, AI, anti-corruption projects and innovative technologies.

In 2025, the budget of the Ministry of Digital Transformation amounted to about UAH 7.8 billion, which means that it will increase by about 30% in 2026. The largest growth is observed in the area of support for defense technologies and grant programs for the military-industrial complex, which emphasizes the strategic priority of the state in developing its own technological potential.
