The city survived: electricity, heat, and water were restored in Kryvyi Rih

14 January 09:17

Despite the night attack and all the difficulties, energy workers were able to restore electricity, heat, and water supply in Kryvyi Rih.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing a Telegram post by the head of the city’s defense council, Oleksandr Vilkul.

“Energy workers have done the almost impossible. All emergency power cuts have been restored. Boiler rooms have been fired up and are already heating up… The water supply is working,” he wrote.

In addition, Vilkul reported that public electric transport is also operating normally, including the high-speed tram. Although there were predictions at night that the high-speed tram would not be running in the morning.

“On behalf of the entire community, I sincerely thank every power engineer, heating engineer, municipal water utility employee, public utility worker, brave rescuer, and every member of the Headquarters. Everyone who stayed up all night and worked in the cold to prevent the system from freezing and to ensure that everything was normal for the residents of Kryvyi Rih,” added the head of the City Defense Council.

A short time later, Vilkul published another post in which he once again described the night attack and its consequences in detail, and also reported that the shelling had caused a fire. It has now been extinguished.

Strike on Kryvyi Rih

As a reminder, Russia struck Kryvyi Rih on the night of January 14. As a result of a massive attack with “Shahed” drones, an infrastructure facility was hit. It later became known that 45,000 subscribers in the city were left without power and more than 700 houses were left without heat.

Energy workers began restoring communications shortly after the attack and damage, and by Wednesday morning, the head of the Kryvyi Rih Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Vilkul, reported that the situation was under control. They managed to repair the damage and restore heat, light, and water to the people.

As for transportation in Kryvyi Rih, which also did not work due to the lack of electricity, everything has already been fixed and is operating as usual.
