International financing of military salaries can become part of security guarantees – Marchenko

The Ukrainian government is actively working to raise international funds to finance military salaries. This was stated by the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergiy Marchenko during the government hour in the parliament, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
When asked by an MP about the possibility of direct financing of Ukrainian military salaries by international partners, the head of the Ministry of Finance gave an affirmative answer.
“We are convincing our partners to direct resources not only to civilian needs, but also to the security and defense sector,”
– mr. Marchenko emphasized.
According to the minister, finding stable sources to cover military spending in the medium term is one of the main tasks set by the president for the government.
The Defense Ministry has already made preliminary calculations, determining the required number of military personnel after the end of active hostilities and the required amount of funding for various categories. These calculations will serve as a basis for joint work between the Ukrainian government and international partners.
Marchenko also noted that such financial revenues could be included in a package of security guarantees for Ukraine.
“There is a willingness and understanding that this issue will be resolved. I hope we will soon be able to talk about specific agreements,”
– the minister summarized.
As wrote, the government lacks UAH 300 billion for the war, but has the funds to distribute money.
