Famous Ukrainian singer Oleg Vynnyk is once again in the spotlight after a long absence from the public eye during the full-scale war. This happened after his former producer Oleksandr Horbenko accused the artist of lying about the reasons for travelling abroad and his volunteer activities, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

After these accusations, Vynnyk addressed his fans through a video on his Facebook fan page. In his address, the singer did not comment on Horbenko’s statements, instead focusing on thanking his fans for their support and announcing a new song, which is scheduled to premiere on 23 August.

Vynnyk emotionally addressed his fans:

“I want to thank you for being with me, for believing in me, for staying with me. No one has left. For never forgetting about me in such a terrible time, in such a damn, fierce war in our country.”

Vynnyk announced his new song “My People”, which is due to be released on 23 August, the Day of the Ukrainian Flag, and even sang a few lines.

The singer also spoke about his health, hinting at previous problems:

“Oleg’s health is fine, thank God, now. Only sentimentality has appeared”.

He thanked the defenders of Ukraine and expressed confidence in victory.

Meanwhile, Oleksandr Horbenko, in a post that was later deleted, accused Vynnyk of making false statements about his illness and leaving Ukraine. Vynnyk had previously said that he had travelled to Germany for medical treatment before the full-scale invasion. A former producer of Vynnyk’s claims that he had not heard of any serious illnesses from Vynnyk before the full-scale war.

He also questioned the artist’s volunteer activities, demanding to see evidence of his assistance to the army.

“For two years, you have been circulating photos and videos of the same vehicles, the number of which, according to your stories, is increasing every month, and you are also telling tales of hundreds of thousands of euros of secret aid, unknown to whom, unknown to what. …publish the Report and show at least a third of the amount you stubbornly declare, people would be interested to see the Report of your much-advertised Foundation, how many donations you have collected over two years, and what you have spent them on. This is a common practice. You will never do this, for the simple reason that there has never been anything that has never happened.”

Nv.ua quoted Horbenko as saying.

Vynnyk was also criticised by producer Vadym Lysytsia, who accused the singer of betraying his team and fleeing the country at the beginning of the war.

“He chose booze and coke. He betrayed the producer and the whole team. On 25 February 2022, he crossed the border like a coward in the trunk of a car driven by Sasha’ s (Gorbenko’s) wife,”

– lysytsia wrote.

After the outbreak of full-scale war, Oleh Vynnyk disappeared from the country’s information field and reappeared in an interview only in June 2023, saying that he regretted not keeping arms to defend his homeland.
