Facebook monetization has started in Ukraine: how bloggers can earn money
12 February 08:23
Ukrainian content creators have gained access to direct monetization on Facebook for the first time. Meta has begun paying Ukrainian creators as part of its content monetization program, with the first payments already made in January 2026, according to industry communities.
The Telegram channel Digital Masons announced the launch of payments for Ukrainian authors, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to their information, the first payments were received by users with an audience of approximately 5 to 10 thousand subscribers.
This is a signal that monetization tools have begun to work not only for the largest pages, but also for the middle segment of authors.

What Meta pays authors for
Meta is developing a comprehensive monetization program to retain authors and compete with other platforms. This is not just about videos: it is also possible to earn money from other content formats.
Within the program, authors can earn income through the following tools:
- Unified Program — simplified access to financial tools within a single approach.
- Facebook Stars — donations from viewers during live broadcasts or under videos.
- Subscriptions — regular monthly payments from the audience for exclusive content.
- Branded Content — tools for transparent collaboration with advertisers and labeling of partner materials.
Importantly, Meta can promote not only video content (Reels or longer videos), but also photo and text posts. This expands monetization opportunities for authors who work in the format of expert posts, reports, reviews, or useful compilations.
Why Meta needs this
Stimulating activity: motivation to create more content = more user time on the platform.
Increasing advertising space: the more high-quality content (videos longer than 3 minutes, interesting Reels), the more space for advertising. Meta simply shares a percentage of the profits with users.
What this means for marketers
Lower cost of acquisition (CPC/CPM): More content means more inventory for advertising.
More accurate targeting: algorithms better understand interests through “behavioral signals” when interacting with author content.
New placement formats: the ability to appear in expert longreads through Ads on Images or Performance Bonus.
Why this is important right now
The content market in Ukraine is rapidly becoming more professional: brands are working more actively with influencers, and authors are looking for stable sources of income. Direct monetization on Facebook can become an additional financial “lever” for Ukrainian creators — without being tied only to advertising or one-time integrations.
For Meta, this logic is also pragmatic: when authors create quality content more often, users stay on the platform longer. This increases the reach, engagement, and ultimately the advertising opportunities of the social network.
What this means for business and the advertising market
The launch of monetization for Ukrainian authors on Facebook opens up additional opportunities for businesses:
- more high-quality content means more platforms for native advertising;
- more accurate behavioral signals – more effective advertising settings;
- more interaction formats — from short videos to long expert posts and reviews.
As a result, the Ukrainian segment of Facebook receives another stimulus for development: authors get motivation to create content systematically, and businesses get more tools for communicating with their audience.
