“Morshynska is under control: ARMA unblocks IDS Ukraine’s asset management

10 October 21:31

The Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) has announced that it has completed the settlement of the long-standing and complicated situation around the seized corporate rights of the IDS Ukraine group of companies, which includes the Morshynska and Myrhorodska brands, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

After the legal regulation of the assets, the Agency is preparing an open tender to find a manager.

“Morshynska and Mirgorodska are one of the most famous drinking water brands in Ukraine. Their work directly affects the soft drink market, as well as the jobs of hundreds of people in the production regions.
Prior to that, the company’s management was paralyzed due to legal conflicts and the participation of the sanctioned Russian oligarch Mikhail Fridman in the ownership structure.

How did the events develop?

  • 2022 – the court seized IDS Ukraine’s assets owned by Friedman.
  • 2023 – Carpathian Mineral Waters became the manager.
  • 2025, April – ARMA terminates the contract with the manager due to legal issues and risks of cooperation with sanctioned persons.
  • October 2025 – The Agency announced the completion of the settlement and preparation for a new tender.

ARMA stated that:

  • will soon hold market consultations with potential managers and investors;
  • the tender will be public and open;
  • the priority will be to preserve production, jobs and transparency of financial flows.

This is not the first time that the government has tried to regulate the management of assets associated with Russian capital.

Similar problems have been encountered with companies in the real estate, energy and banking sectors.

“Morshynska has become a symbolic story: one of the most recognizable water brands in Ukraine is effectively hung between sanctions legislation and the market’s need for stable brand operations.
