The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that it had not received any official communications from the United States regarding the termination or revision of the schedules for the provision of agreed military assistance.
In connection with the media reports about possible delays, the Defense Ministry initiated a telephone conversation with American partners, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“The Ukrainian side has paid attention to reports of delays in the delivery of certain elements of previously allocated defense assistance packages from the United States and is clarifying the actual circumstances of the deliveries,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized that it is checking the details of the supply for each element and stressed the critical importance of stability, continuity, and predictability of assistance, especially in terms of strengthening air defense systems.
They promised to report on the results of contacts with the United States at the level of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Western media outlets, including Politico and NBC News, previously reported that the Pentagon had temporarily suspended the supply of a number of important systems, including Patriot interceptors and GMLRS precision-guided missiles. The reason was cited as concerns about the depletion of the US’s own weapons stockpile.
Against this backdrop, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry summoned US Chargé d’Affaires John Hinkel for an explanation. President Zelenskyy said he intends to discuss the potential purchase of a defense package with President Donald Trump. During the NATO summit in The Hague, Trump promised to look into the possibility of transferring additional air defense systems to Ukraine.
