Ukraine is reaching a new level in the field of precision weapons. At the MSPO international exhibition in Poland , Ukraine presented its own ballistic missiles and new air defense systems. Meanwhile, the Flamingo missiles have already passed a combat test. They combine accuracy and range never before seen in Ukraine’s arsenal.

The Flamingo’s potential is assessed as the ability to inflict serious damage on Russia’s military-industrial complex. This weapon is even suitable for strategic strikes on underground facilities, factories, and key military installations. Read "Komersant Ukrainian" to find out where Ukrainian missiles can reach and what targets have already been hit.

The Ukrainian company Fire Point (“Flamingo” ) announced the development of its own ballistic missiles FP-7 and FP-9, as well as new air defense systems at the MSPO international exhibition in Poland. This was reported by a Militarny correspondent.

TheFP-7 has a range of up to 200 km, a speed of up to 1500 m/s, and an accuracy of about 14 meters from the target. It is capable of carrying 150 kg of payload and can operate for up to 250 seconds in flight. The missile is launched from ground-based platforms, and its main task is to quickly engage medium-range targets.

Expert: Flamingo missiles could be a blow to Russia’s military-industrial complex

Ukrainian aviation expert Kostyantyn Kryvolap commented on the potential of Ukraine’s new Flamingo missiles, which were recently used in combat for the first time.

“As for the Flamingo missiles, I really hope that we will see not only this strike on the border outpost, which had almost 3,500 kilograms of explosives. In theory, everything there was supposed to be annihilated to the molecular or atomic level,

He emphasized that the project has prospects if it avoids the fate of previous Ukrainian developments such as Polyanytsia, Ruta, and Peklo, which were widely discussed but never demonstrated the range and systematic use.

We’ll see, but I hope that the Flamingo missile project will be launched and become effective. If it does, we will be seriously disrupting Russia’s military-industrial complex,” Kryvolap summarized.

“Flamingo in action

Flamingo missiles have already become part of combat operations. On the night of August 30, the Ukrainian Defense Forces fired a volley of cruise missiles at the occupied Crimea. At least three missiles, allegedly launched from Odesa region, crossed the Black Sea and hit Russian military facilities. The footage shows three missiles rising into the sky in succession from the east coast.

It has not been officially reported what exactly was destroyed on the peninsula, but the operation is already being called one of the most high-profile attacks on Russian positions in Crimea.

“Flamingo could become a tool for strategic strikes against Russia

Aviation expert Anatoliy Khrapchynsky believes that the new Ukrainian Flamingo missile is potentially capable of participating in the destruction of the Crimean bridge. At the same time, he emphasizes that this weapon has even broader tasks, including strategic strikes on the military infrastructure of the Russian Federation.

“Of course, we need to look at the spread on the target, there are some errors that do not allow us to do so. But with the available number of explosive elements, it does its job,” Anatoliy Khrapchynsky said

Khrapchynskyi clarified that the Flamingo is more suitable for striking production facilities, warehouses and underground facilities. He named Alabuga, the Kazan aircraft and helicopter plants as potential targets.

According to him, this missile was created to meet specific requirements and is the result of synergy between military and private companies.

He also reminded that Ukraine can use the scientific and technical heritage of the USSR.

There is documentation that can be digitized and offered to private companies for revision. Yes, it needs to be adapted to modern technologies, but we have the fundamental knowledge that allows us to do interesting things,” Khrapchynsky summarized.

“Flamingo is becoming a symbol of a new stage of Ukrainian development in the field of precision weapons. It combines technological developments and military needs, opening up new opportunities for Ukraine in the war against Russia. Experts agree that if the project is developed further, it can change the balance of power at the front and deal a critical blow to the Russian military machine.
