The head of the Presidential Office, Kirill Budanov, announced his visit to the United States, where talks with American partners on the details of a possible peace agreement are planned.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Budanov’s post on Telegram.
According to him, together with the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov and People’s Deputy David Arakhamia, he will hold a series of meetings in Washington.
“A joint meeting with Stephen Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and Daniel Driscoll is planned. Ukraine needs a just peace. We are working for results,” he wrote.
Negotiations between Ukraine and the US
Ukraine continues consultations with European and American partners on the implementation of the peace plan. At the end of December 2025, President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Florida, where he met with US President Donald Trump.
Despite statements about full security guarantees for Ukraine, the key and most difficult issue—territories—remains unresolved. At the same time, Trump says that the parties are close to a compromise, and Zelensky notes that the peace plan is 90% ready and security guarantees are 100% ready.
Recently, a meeting of the “coalition of the determined” was held in Paris at the leadership level, following which Kyiv, Paris, and London signed a declaration of intent regarding the possible deployment of a Western contingent in Ukraine.
At the same time, Kremlin special representative Kirill Dmitriev was spotted in the French capital. According to media reports, Trump’s advisers Steve Wigoff and Jared Kushner met with him to discuss the American peace plan and are also considering a trip to Moscow for talks with Vladimir Putin.
It is expected that Russia may respond to Ukraine’s 20-point peace plan by the end of the month. In addition, next week, Kyiv’s G7 allies plan to meet with Trump in Davos to enlist his support for security guarantees after the ceasefire.
