A poll conducted by the Razumkov Centre at the request of ZN.UA has revealed a mixed attitude among Ukrainians towards the possibility of peace talks with Russia. The study, which covered 2027 respondents aged 18 and older in the rear regions of Ukraine, showed that society is divided on this issue, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

Thus, 44% of respondents believe that the time for official peace talks with Russia has already come, while 35% share the opposite opinion.

Interestingly, the attitude to this issue differs significantly depending on the region. The idea of negotiations received the most support in the south of Ukraine, where 60% of respondents were in favour of starting a dialogue. This is significantly higher than the national average. On the other hand, residents of eastern Ukraine, who face Russian attacks on a daily basis, were the least inclined to negotiate. Only 33% of residents of the eastern regions are ready for negotiations, 34% are against them, and 32% are undecided.

Despite differences over the idea of negotiations, the vast majority of Ukrainians reject the conditions set by Russian President Vladimir Putin. 84% do not agree to the transfer of four regions to Russia, and 77% oppose the lifting of Western sanctions.

However, the issue of Ukraine’s neutral status has caused divisions. 58% of respondents oppose enshrining Ukraine’s neutral, non-aligned, non-nuclear status in the Constitution, while 22% support this idea. It is noteworthy that in the south of the country, 39% of respondents are ready to support neutrality, especially among people over 60.

It is important to note that this poll reflects the opinion of civilians on the home front only. The opinion of military personnel, who bear the brunt of the war, remains unknown due to the impossibility of conducting a survey at the front.
