reports.
During the Revolution of Dignity, Alla joined the Right Sector, leaving her studies at Karpenko-Kary University and her dream career as a theatre critic, Krapyvenko writes.
From August 2014 to April 2018, she worked as a journalist and photographer for the fifth separate battalion of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army. That’s when she received the call sign “Ruta”.
“Alla was from the generation that grew up in the war and eagerly made plans for the future. She collected folk jewellery, took a keen interest in cultural life, and posted photos of the cats that were with her everywhere. No one can replace Alla. Neither in peaceful life nor in war. This is an irreplaceable loss in the fullest sense,”
– he wrote.
According to Krapyvenko, Pushkarchuk grew from a news reporter to a full-fledged cultural columnist at the Weekly.
Pushkarchuk also worked at Chitomo, where she was responsible for the news feed and coordinated the People from Empty Chairs project.
According to IMI, Alla Pushkarchuk became the 77th in the list of media professionals killed as a result of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
