On Easter night, from April 19 to April 20, the curfew in Khmelnytsky region will last only three hours – from 00:00 to 03:00. At the same time, security measures will be strengthened in the region during the holidays. This was announced by the head of the Khmelnytsky Regional Military Administration Serhiy Tyurin, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
This decision was made on April 14 at the Regional Defense Council.
“I understand how important this holiday is for each of us. In peacetime, the churches were crowded with believers. But, unfortunately, the fourth year of the great war makes its own adjustments. Recent tragedies in Kryvyi Rih and Sumy, constant enemy shelling of our cities and villages, and our region is no exception, make us especially vigilant,” he said.
At the same time, the authorities warn that constant shelling of cities and villages makes us be vigilant, so security measures will be strengthened during the holiday.
The Defense Council held a conversation with the clergy about mass events, ordered firefighters to conduct briefings, and ordered the police to switch to an enhanced patrol regime and ensure people’s access to shelters.
It should be noted that Holy Week continues in Ukraine, marking the approach of Easter – today, April 15, believers celebrate the second day, which is Holy Tuesday. On this day, there are special traditions and prohibitions that believers must observe.
As a reminder, Easter is celebrated in Ukraine this year on April 20.
