A Russian transit train was not allowed to enter Lithuania because it bore Russian military aggressive symbols. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to VSAT (Lithuanian State Border Guard Service – ed.).

On Wednesday, the Moscow-Kaliningrad transit train from Belarus arrived at the Kenos railway border checkpoint of the Vilnius Border Guard Detachment of the VSAT.

Border guards noticed a Russian military emblem “Z” and the inscription “ZOV” (in Latin letters) on one of the cars, applied with black spray paint. A neighbouring carriage had a provocative inscription in Cyrillic, which, translated into Lithuanian, reads as follows: “Vilnius is a Russian city”.

The train staff said they could not explain where or how the inscription came from.

The border guards, in turn, ordered the train staff to remove the inscriptions immediately. VSAT employees warned that otherwise passengers would have to change carriages, and the passengers described would be unhooked from the train and not allowed to enter Lithuania.

The train manager and her subordinates began to remove the prohibited inscriptions from two carriages using rags and gravel.

The border guards added that the incident did not result in the train being stopped. After completing all the mandatory screening procedures, the train was allowed to continue its transit through Lithuania on the established route.
