A new industrial park is set to open in the Kyiv region: what we know so far

13 March 19:46

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to include the new “Steel Kyiv Region” industrial park in the state register of industrial parks.

This was reported by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

The new park is planned to be located in the Bila Tserkva community.

What is the scale of the project?

According to the ministry:

  • The park’s area is nearly 12 hectares
  • The project’s implementation period is 49 years
  • Estimated investment: approximately 3.5 billion UAH
  • Expected number of jobs — approximately 400

The main idea of the project is to create a metalworking industrial cluster.

Who is initiating the project

The initiator of the industrial park is the company
GRANDSTIL.

Funding is planned to be raised from several sources:

  • the initiating company’s own funds
  • government incentives for industrial parks
  • investments from future park residents
  • other private sources of funding

What types of businesses are planned to be located there

The new park is designed to accommodate enterprises in the metalworking and metal products manufacturing sectors.

Key areas include:

  • metal processing and coating
  • mechanical processing of metal parts
  • forging, pressing, and stamping
  • powder metallurgy
  • manufacturing of structural metalwork
  • manufacture of other fabricated metal products

How many industrial parks are there in Ukraine?

According to the Ministry of Economy, there are currently over 114 industrial parks in the state registry.

The government views this tool as one of the ways to attract investment and develop the manufacturing industry.

New rules for state support

In late February, the government announced the preparation of an updated procedure for the use of state support for industrial parks.

In particular, the plan provides for compensation of up to 200 million UAH for infrastructure damaged as a result of Russian attacks.

This should help industrial parks recover more quickly and continue operations even under wartime conditions.
