Russian attack damages locomotive depot and other critical infrastructure in Poltava region

On the night of November 8, the Russian army carried out a combined missile and drone strike in Poltava region. The attack used a Geranium-2 UAV and cruise missiles, the type of which is currently being determined.
This was reported on the Facebook page of the Poltava Regional Prosecutor’s Office, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The strike damaged critical infrastructure in three districts of Poltava region.
In particular, an energy facility in Kremenchuk district was damaged as a result of hits and falling debris. In Lubny district, an administrative building and other premises of the locomotive depot were damaged. Locomotives undergoing maintenance were also damaged. In Poltava district, the property of an oil and gas company was damaged. A 43-year-old employee sustained multiple shrapnel wounds.
Law enforcement officers opened three criminal proceedings over the incident under Article 438 (1) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – “Violation of the laws and customs of war”.
What is known about the shelling of Poltava region on the night of November 8
The combined shelling took place on the night of November 7-8. One person was injured as a result of Russian strikes. Two cities in the region have no electricity, water, and partially no heating.
Electric transport is not working in Kremenchuk community. As a result, additional buses have been sent to the routes and an operational coordination headquarters has been organized.
The town of Horishni Plavni is also without electricity. According to preliminary information, the shelling damaged the energy infrastructure facilities that supplied power to the town. Currently, there is no electricity, water or heating.
The Unbreakable Points are being deployed in both cities.
Due to the damage to the railway infrastructure in Poltava region, changes were made to the train traffic. In particular, two suburban trains will be running on changed routes.
“To continue running in some areas, we have brought out reserve diesel locomotives and are running with them. However, this may result in delays, so please take this into account. Currently, the estimated delays in Poltava and Kharkiv regions are up to 1.5 hours,” Ukrzaliznytsia said in a statement.
Also, in Poltava region, due to a massive Russian missile and drone attack, a special emergency outage schedule was applied. This was done to prevent disruption of the integrated power system of Ukraine.
“We ask you to understand the situation that has arisen as a result of large-scale shelling of Ukraine,” Poltavaoblenergo said.
