Transsexual who kidnapped a baby from a maternity hospital detained in Poltava region

Police detained the abductor of a newborn baby from a perinatal centre in Kremenchuk. The attacker was a 25-year-old transsexual man, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports, citing the National Police.
on 14 July, it was reported that a 4-day-old baby disappeared from the maternity hospital of a mother of many children who gave birth for the fifth time. Patrols were checking cars at the exits from Kremenchuk.
Surveillance cameras showed a woman leaving the hospital with a large package. However, the operatives found that the attacker was a transsexual man.
“The detainee explains his actions by saying that he really wanted a child, which he could never have, so he committed the crime. The child is fine, law enforcement officers returned the baby to the mother at the perinatal centre,”
– said Yevhen Rohachov, head of the Poltava regional police.
Criminal proceedings were opened against the 25-year-old kidnapper under Part 3 of Article 146 and Part 2 of Article 367 (abduction of a minor and negligence that caused grave consequences) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The kidnapper now faces five to 10 years in prison for his actions.
