Railway service suspended in Sumy region: what happened and which routes were canceled

“Ukrzaliznytsia has announced the suspension of passenger and suburban trains in the Sumy direction due to another shelling that damaged rolling stock and infrastructure. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Ukrzaliznytsia.
Work continues in the region to eliminate the consequences of the attack, and some areas remain without power.
What happened
According to the company, several trains have been suspended due to the threat of new attacks and damage to infrastructure. Two employees of the locomotive crew were hospitalized for medical examination.
Ukrzaliznytsia noted that in a number of areas of Sumy region there is no voltage in the contact network, which makes it impossible for electric trains to run.
Trains that have been suspended:
- #144 Rakhiv – Sumy
- no. 787 Tereshchenska – Kyiv
Delays will be announced separately.
Suburban trains
Suburban train #6888 Sumy – Lebedynska is delayed for departure for an indefinite period of time. Traffic will be resumed as soon as the situation allows.
Changes have been made to suburban routes: train 6012 will run on the route Sumy – Trostyanets-Smorodyne (instead of Vorozhba – Trostyanets-Smorodyne).
The region uses a combined bus-train service. Due to the lack of power, a number of suburban trains will run with delays.
Other regions
Similar restrictions are also in place in Dnipro and Kharkiv regions.
In particular:
- possible changes in the routes of suburban flights,
- delays of up to 1.5 hours.

“Ukrzaliznytsia assures that traffic will be resumed as soon as the security situation stabilizes and the infrastructure is restored.
