Officials and entrepreneurs in Vinnytsia and Kherson regions have been served 30 suspicion notices in a case of causing losses to the state of almost UAH 60 million. This was announced by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“Embezzlement, misappropriation, negligence, abuse. And, of course, land carve-up,” he characterized the essence of the cases.
According to Kravchenko, there are 21 suspicions in Vinnytsia region. Among the suspects are a deputy of the Kotsiubyno village council who fraudulently seized 2 hectares of land; the head of the Bershad community who failed to declare his property; former officials of the Supivka village council, directors of utility companies, representatives of local councils, and the acting head of one of the NAAS enterprises. The total amount of losses is over UAH 14.5 million, and undeclared property worth UAH 9 million was found.
In Kherson region, 9 suspects were announced. Among the suspects are directors of contractors who, according to the investigation, misappropriated budget funds, as well as the head of a medical institution and her accomplice, who are suspected of supplying unsuitable medical supplies. Another suspect is the head of a city council department who signed acts of technical supervision of shelters that were not actually built.
“The position does not give immunity. A deputy, a department head or the mayor – everyone will be held accountable,” Kravchenko emphasized.
Earlier, law enforcement officers reported 43 suspicions in Zaporizhzhia and Zakarpattia regions in cases of damage to the state amounting to more than UAH 150 million.
