In Zakarpattia region, fraudster cheated three servicemen of over UAH 1 million

In Zakarpattia region, an offender defrauded three servicemen of more than one million hryvnias. The fraudster promised the men service at their place of residence. This was reported by the press service of the Transcarpathian regional police, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
According to law enforcement officials, the offender was a 32-year-old resident of Kharkiv region who, while in Zakarpattia region, gained the men’s trust and offered to assist in the transfer of the soldiers to serve at their place of residence.
He assured them that he had the necessary connections. The fraudster estimated his services at 25 thousand dollars.
In several tranches, the offender received a total of over one million hryvnias. After receiving the money, he stopped contacting us and left the region.
“Police operatives tracked down the suspect in Kharkiv region and brought him to Zakarpattia. Here he was placed in a temporary detention center,” the police said.
The detained fraudster faces up to eight years in prison
