New restrictions introduced at the border in Zakarpattia: for whom and what kind

Additional regime restrictions have been introduced in the border area within Uzhhorod district to make border protection as effective as possible. What exactly are the innovations in question, the "Komersant Ukrainian" reports with reference to the Facebook page of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service.

How long will the new restrictions last?

The restrictions will be in place temporarily – until the legal regime of martial law in Ukraine ends.

What areas are subject to additional restrictions

New restrictions have been introduced for the following communities in Uzhhorod district:

  • Stavnenska,
  • Kostrynska,
  • Velykobereznyanska,
  • Dubrynytsia-Malobereznytsia,
  • Onokivska,
  • Kholmkivska,
  • Surtees district,
  • Chop district.

Within the border area of Uzhhorod district, the following is prohibited

  • stay of persons and performance of works outside the settlements, stay of persons and vehicles on the roads that are not in the register of roads leading to the state border, as well as driving on them in the dark – from 22:00 to 05:00
  • stopping vehicles on the roadside outside the established car parks, unless it is related to technical malfunctions;
  • transporting weapons and any means of active defence in vehicles without appropriate permits;
  • use of night vision devices, thermal imaging equipment, radio stations, except for those installed on special equipment and special purpose vehicles;
  • use and flight of light aircraft.

Who is not subject to the new restrictions

  • officials or employees of state authorities;
  • officials or employees of local self-government bodies;
  • law enforcement officers
  • employees of civil defence authorities;
  • military personnel
  • employees of public utilities;
  • employees of emergency (ambulance) medical care;
  • structures that provide humanitarian, medical and social services to the population.
