There are no votes for laws on personal responsibility of law enforcement officers because all deputies are intimidated, says deputy

According to MP Anna Skorokhod, fear of the law enforcement system blocks any attempts to improve legislation in parliament, even when there is a clear need for reform. She spoke about this in an interview with the YouTube channel
“I submitted two bills. They concern the personal responsibility of law enforcement agencies and judges who make illegal decisions. Unfortunately, there is no political force or will in parliament, because everyone is intimidated,” she said.
Skokhod added that MPs fear persecution not only for themselves but also for their families, so they often choose to remain silent.
“People are simply afraid. And people have the attitude: ‘It’s better to wait quietly than to stick my neck out. ‘ It’s scary,” she said.

In conclusion, the MP emphasized that without a real balance between the branches of power and the personal responsibility of law enforcement officials, a democratic state cannot function.
“The key is that the legislative branch should not fear law enforcement, but that they should be in balance and parity. If you break the law, you are held accountable. Then there will be balance. If there is balance, we will have a normal system. But today, it’s either a phone call, certain interests, or something else. And that’s not how a democratic country works,” she concluded.
