A tragic incident occurred in Queensland, Australia: a 34-year-old woman’s own pit bull bit off her arm below the elbow. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to BBC.
Paramedics were able to save the severed limb, and the woman was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition. The police who arrived at the scene decided to kill the dog because of its aggressive behaviour.
Senior Sergeant Scott Warrick told reporters that upon arrival at the scene, police found a woman bleeding and a dog that was aggressive and trying to get out of the house. The officers gave the victim first aid by applying a tourniquet to her injured arm before paramedics arrived. Warrick said that in his 37 years of service, he had never seen such a serious dog attack on a human.
In turn, the victim’s neighbours claim that the dog was known for its aggressiveness, and they had previously received complaints about it. One of the men even showed scars from the animal’s bites.
