The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine warns citizens about a new wave of phishing attacks carried out by unknown persons under the name of the agency. This is stated in a message on the NABU Telegram channel, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

According to the Bureau, the attackers send emails using a domain that has nothing to do with the NABU’s real address.

What scheme do the fraudsters use?

The report states that there are phishing emails sent on behalf of the National Bureau, but they come from a fake address.

The official domain of the NABU is nabu.gov.ua. Phishing emails come from the domain nabu.org.ua, which is not related to the government agency.

Such messages may contain malicious files or links aimed at gaining access to personal data or compromising users’ devices.

What does the NABU advise?

The agency urges citizens to:

  • do not open suspicious emails;
  • carefully check the sender’s address;
  • not to follow dubious links;
  • follow basic rules of cyber hygiene.
