NABU verifies information about MP Andriy Zhupanin’s condition and London travels

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau is carrying out an analysis of the materials of journalists of the Bihus.Info project and, in fact, of the data that were published about the travels and holidays of MP “servant” Andriy Zhupanin in London. About this Komersant ukrainskyi 
“NABU detectives are conducting analytical work in order to verify the information set out in the above journalistic investigation ( Bihus.Info investigation: “The wife of MP Zhupanin “burned” him on holiday in London”, – ed.)”, – stated in the response of the NABU.
The Bureau clarified that detectives have not yet conducted a pre-trial investigation into the facts of possible illegal enrichment Zhupanin. They explained that the right to register such proceedings, according to the requirements of the CPC, belongs to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

People’s Deputy from the Servant of the People party Andriy Zhupanin found himself at the centre of a scandal because of his regular trips to London during the full-scale war in Ukraine. A journalistic investigation by Bihus.Info revealed that the MP visits the British capital quite often, where he often spends time with his wife and lives in elite apartmentsworth more than £5,000 a month.
It was emphasised that Zhupanin regularly visits London despite Ukraine’s ban on MPs leaving the country on non-government business, introduced by the National Security and Defence Council in January 2023 .
Compensation for rent
Andriy Zhupanin, according to his income declaration, rents a flat in Kiev for 240 thousand UAH per year. These funds he is compensated by the state.
At the same time, Zhupanin’s wife has her own flat in Kiev since 2018, which the politician also notes in his declaration.
Luxury life
In addition to the above-mentioned frequent visits to London, the luxurious lifestyle of Zhupanin’s family also attracted the attention of the public. The wife of the deputy Bogdan, regularly demonstrates in social networks expensive jewellery, clothes from luxury brands and her holidays.
According to the official declaration Zhupanin, his personal fortune is relatively small – about 40 thousand hryvnias and 70 thousand dollars of savings. But his wife, who, according to the MP’s declaration, does not work anywhere, has significant amounts of cash: 1.5 million hryvnias, 130 thousand pounds sterling, 195 thousand euros and 182 thousand dollars.
