NABU came to search Naftogaz structures (UPDATED)

NABU detectives are conducting investigative measures in the structures of NJSC “Naftogaz”, sources inform "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to preliminary data from sources (as of 12:00), searches are ongoing, and Vitaliy Brovko was also detained. The latter allegedly tried to “escape from the scene of the incident”, but was later detained in Kyiv, near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs anyway.
NABU has now (as of 13:50) responded with a statement confirming the investigative measures, but reports that “no one was detained”.
“In response to media inquiries, we inform you that #NABU detectives, under the procedural guidance of #SAP, conducted searches at the security director of the State Corporation “Naftogaz of Ukraine”. No person was detained, no suspicion was reported. The investigative measures were authorized and carried out in accordance with current legislation. These measures do not concern the activities of Naftogaz,” – the NABU statement says.
Other details are not disclosed to preserve the secrecy of the pre-trial investigation, the Bureau added.
Sources "Komersant Ukrainian", which previously informed about the detention of Vitaly Brovko, continue to insist on their data (as of 2:15 p.m.), explaining that this is not about the detention of a person under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. But about the fact that the Naftogaz official allegedly tried to “escape from the scene”, “locked himself in his car”. And that is why he was stopped “in Kyiv, near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs”, and not near his actual place of work.
What is known about Brovko
Vitaly Brovko – in August 2025 he became the new director of security at Naftogaz.
Before that, he worked as the head of one of the departments of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
