“Naftogaz explains why it has increased its budget payments

Back on 15 February, Naftogaz reported that in February 2024, Naftogaz Group paid 17.8% more taxes than in the same period last year. The Company explained why this was possible in response to a request from Kommersant ukrainian

“The increase in budget payments by legal entities of the Naftogaz Group in February 2024 compared to February 2023 was due to an increase in the payment of value added tax to the budget, as well as rent payments,”

– naftogaz clarified.

In total, Naftogaz Group paid UAH 11.4 billion in taxes to the state and local budgets in January-February 2024.

Earlier, Naftogaz reported that in 2023 it bought almost a billion cubic metres of gas from private Ukrainian gas producers. This trend was assessed as extremely positive by the NJSC.

At the same time, market experts believe that this situation actually shows the absence of a gas market in Ukraine and its significant distortion.
