MP suspected of illicit enrichment is released on bail

on 23 October 2024, an investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court imposed a measure of restraint in the form of a personal guarantee on MP Iryna Kormyshkina, who is suspected of illicit enrichment. This is stated in the report of the Anti-Corruption Action Centre, Komersant ukrainskyi reports.
The AntAC noted that the court appointed two people as guarantors: the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, and the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim.
According to the SAPO, the suspect is entrusted with the performance of procedural duties:
- to notify the investigator, prosecutor or court of changes in his/her place of residence and place of work;
- to hand over their passports for travelling abroad and other documents entitling them to leave and enter Ukraine to the relevant state authorities;
- refrain from communicating with the persons specified in the investigating judge’s decision.
The term of the obligation is two months.
The Anti-Corruption Action Centre reminded that, according to the investigation, in 2021-2022, Kormyshkina became the owner of assets that exceeded her official income and savings by more than UAH 20 million.
The Anti-Corruption Action Centre also reported that anti-corruption activists filed a corresponding statement about the MP’s possible illicit enrichment two years ago.
