The National Bank fined Ukrposhta 255,000 hryvnias: what is the reason?

The National Bank of Ukraine has imposed penalties on JSC “Ukrposhta” for violating payment services regulations. The fine amounts to 255,000 hryvnias. This was reported by the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
Why the NBU fined Ukrposhta
As explained by the regulator, the fine was imposed because the company failed to provide the necessary information and documents within the specified timeframes in accordance with the National Bank’s requirements.
This constitutes a violation of the legislation governing the activities of payment market participants.
The NBU clarified that:
the fine was imposed for failing to submit information or documents requested by the regulator within the established deadlines.
When the decision was made
The decision to impose the fine was made on March 16, 2026, based on the results of an off-site inspection of the company’s activities.
It was during this monitoring that the National Bank identified violations of the requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On Payment Services.”
When Ukrposhta must pay the fine
According to the regulator’s decision, JSC “Ukrposhta” must pay the fine within five business days of receiving the decision.
Currently, no other sanctions or restrictions regarding the company’s operations have been reported.
